Adelaide Discovery: A Memorable South Australian Escape

Our recent escorted tour to Adelaide was an outstanding success, filled with spectacular sights, unforgettable experiences, plenty of laughter and wonderful company. Over four days, our group traded home comforts for coastal views, giant pandas, historic streets and a live symphony orchestra — and came home with memories to last a lifetime.

Day One: Melbourne to Adelaide

Our adventure began the moment we touched down at Adelaide Airport, greeted by glorious sunshine before setting off on a scenic drive along some of Adelaide’s most picturesque coastline. Rolling past the beaches of Glenelg, West Lakes and Semaphore gave everyone a wonderful first taste of South Australia’s relaxed coastal lifestyle, before we settled in at our centrally located hotel for the start of our three-night stay.

Day Two: City Highlights & the River Torrens

Day two was all about discovering the charm and elegance of Adelaide. We enjoyed a fascinating city highlights tour along the cultural heart of North Terrace, before winding through historic North Adelaide with its tree-lined streets, grand mansions and beautifully preserved heritage buildings.

One of the morning’s highlights was a stop at Colonel Light’s Lookout for breathtaking panoramic views across the city skyline and the iconic Adelaide Oval. From there, we visited the beautiful Adelaide Botanic Garden, where the group wandered through the manicured grounds and marvelled at the impressive Bicentennial Conservatory. No visit to Adelaide is complete without seeing one of its magnificent churches, and at St Peter’s Anglican Cathedral the group admired the soaring architecture and stunning leadlight windows, made even more special as the cathedral was open for visitors.

The afternoon brought another favourite as we stepped aboard Adelaide’s iconic Popeye boat for a relaxing cruise along the River Torrens, taking in a completely different perspective of the city with entertaining commentary throughout. Many in the group then made the most of some free time to browse the charming historic arcades and vibrant Rundle Mall, just a short stroll from our hotel.

Day Three: Giant Pandas & The Man From Snowy River in Concert

Day three delivered one of the most anticipated experiences of the entire tour. Before the gates opened to the public, our group enjoyed an exclusive private viewing of Adelaide Zoo’s Giant Pandas and Red Pandas, accompanied by a knowledgeable zoo guide who shared fascinating insights into these remarkable animals and the conservation work behind them — all followed by a relaxing morning tea in the zoo café.

That afternoon we experienced the true highlight of the tour: The Man From Snowy River in Concert at the Festival Theatre. The Southern Cross Symphony Orchestra performed the much-loved soundtrack live while the classic Australian film played on the big screen above — an emotional, spine-tingling performance that received glowing praise from everyone in our group.

Day Four: Mount Lofty Summit & Home

Our final day began with a visit to the spectacular Mount Lofty Summit, where panoramic views stretched across Adelaide and beyond. We then enjoyed a leisurely stroll through the beautifully manicured Mount Lofty Botanic Garden — the perfect way to soak up the peaceful surroundings one last time before heading to Adelaide Airport for our flight home to Melbourne.

Something for Everyone

The Adelaide Discovery with The Man From Snowy River in Concert truly had something for everyone. From beautiful gardens and historic landmarks to exclusive wildlife encounters and world-class entertainment, every day offered its own memorable experience. Most importantly, the tour was filled with smiles, laughter, new friendships and wonderful memories that will stay with our travellers long after they returned home.

To the wonderful group who made this trip possible: thank you for the brilliant company, the countless laughs, and the beautiful memories we now all share.
